San Miguel Beermen and Brgy. Ginebra may be considered a sister team, but when they are in the court, they are totally rival.

The two teams’ bout gave Brgy. Ginebra its first victory from its two consecutive losses at the start of the PBA conference after outwitting the San Miguel Beermen, 95-82, Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Mark Dunigan, who was named as the best player of the game with 29 points and 13 rebounds, led the team on its victory.

The team had instinctively executed the run and gone scheme, thus, garnered a 16-9 lead point in the first quarter. Their opponent  attempted to grab the lead point, but the Gin Kings never missed the opportunities to consistently led their way to take 27-21 points. Running game and strong offense showed a perfect execution to build 13-point edge, 34-21.

Marked in the game are the two posters dunks from Airforce Chris Ellis and import Mark Dunnigan. Ellis air lifting dunk capability brought Nelbert Omolon a no perfect match to block the flying stint while Ronald Robert failed to stop the slamming of Dunigan.

On the second half, the Beermen finally got a 1-point lead at 62-61 points but Ginebra made a quick response to outstretch the score up to 84-77 in the near end of the fourth quarter.

Coach Ato Agustin said that their team made a major adjustment to execute expertly the running game. Both Caguioa and coach Ato explained that their performance during the practice is far from their performance in the first two games.
